Wow. Was there any question about their 'right'
to do so? First I've heard. This is kinda
breathtaking.

If somebody wanted to propose a complete ban on any discussion
of electoral politics on any Lefty mailing list, I would support
it. After all, I have a blog called stopmebeforeivoteagain.org.
But since we do talk about it -- endlessly, like everybody else --
then the idea of Ron Paul as Lefty heartthrob seems a lot more
interesting, as a topic of conversation, than say Romney vs. Obie.

In the electoral arena, what options beside 'protest politics' do
we have? It's a shadow-play, a batrachomyomachia of empty
signifiers. How exactly should 'people like us' approach it?

If your response is, "leave it alone," then I will if you will,
Doug.

Any proposition that seems self-evident
is almost certainly false.
