There is also much irony in the fact that the most important precedent used by Obama is a monstrous Rehnquist-Court decision upholding, on Commerce-Clause grounds, federal prohibition against cultivation of marijuana in a private home for medical purposes. The irony is not in Obama showing a fascist mentality--that is totally expectable--but in his arguing that a healthy person going uninsured in a private home involves interstate commerce because it allegedly leads to the healthy uninsured person eventually requiring expensive public care for a serious illness but that a sick person growing medical marijuana in her own home involves interstate commerce because it actually leads to that sick person immediately requiring less, or perhaps no, commercial health care!
