I haven't read Michael Heinrich's book [but I've ordered it from MR] and have only had a chance to glance at Jairus Banaji's book [although I knew early essays] but am inclined to say [provisionally] that Banaji is an excellent historian but is lacking when it comes to theorising capitalism and, I'm afraid, earlier [and implicitly later] relations of production. In this respect, he cannot compare to Marx's analysis of capitalism [which Banaji wants to restrict to 'industrial capitalism'] or, from what I can see, Michael Heinrich's.
