Catherine Rampell's point in the NYT blog was that the seasonal
adjustment wasn't fitting the current need for it, since young workers
were starting full-time school earlier.

I'd guess that the best seasonal adjustment is to compare unadjusted
stats to their value from the year before (or better, to compare
between yearly averages).
