Graeber's Axial Age runs from 800 BC to 600 AD. Supposedly slavery disappeared after his Axial Age only to reappear with the rise of colonialism in the Age of the Great Capitalist Empires i.e. after 1450. After 600 AD come the Middle Ages which, under theological ideological hegemony, undo ‘the military-coinage-slavery complex’ of the Axial Age. Of course, under Islam of the Middle Ages, slavery imposed on non-believers was okay.
