Btw I watched Django yesterday. According to Tarantino, he intended the
movie to be "historically cathartic" to US audiences, and I think he
succeeds brilliantly - at least judging from the reactions of my fellow
movie-goers.

I am very curious how it is received in the Deep South though.

The "Uncle Tom" character is indeed very remarkable, though Samuel
Jackson's performance is a bit over the top. The wretch's genuine affection
and love for his master comes through very clearly.
