Jeremy Bentham had a complex system of ethics which Marx termed
book-keeping. And Kant with his categorical imperative wasn't able to
conclude what would now be considered the simplest moral principles.

Morals are rules of behavior established by the ruling class with some
enforced by laws. Just note the current set of copyright and patent
laws.

CB: I think Adam Smith was a Moral Philosopher. Then there's worldly
philosophers.

If morals is ethics and ethics is what you do, then "What is to be
done ?" by Lenin is a form of ethics. And Marx thesis on Feuerbach
emphasize action, what is to be done to change the world.

Copyright and patent laws are laws (smiles). Surely the legal system
is part of the moral system ( or vica versa). Marx and Engels
advocated changing the laws. In fact, their short definition of
communism is legal. "Abolition of private property" , property being a
legal category.
