the Institute for New Economic Thinking has a Young Scholars Initiative that I'm actively involved in. I'm currently designing a series of history of economic thought reading groups that is going pretty well. One problem is Marx. As much as I think Marx is interesting, I'm worried that talking about him- especially on an initial run- would derail the whole project. My solution to this is to have an outside presenter. would anyone be interested in this? the focus would be his monetary economics and/or business cycle economics. this won't be for a few months at least so you have time to decide.
