Keynes was director of the British Eugenics Society from 1937 to 1944. He described eugenics as “the most important, significant and… genuine branch of sociology that exists”. He believed overpopulation was causing “mighty problems” for humankind and he saw eugenics as one possible way of resolving these alleged problems.
