When a friend of mine was a Young Republican in college in 1960, she was
assigned to Nelson Rockefeller's office as a volunteer for the Nixon campaign
against JFK. I recall vividly two things she told me about Rockefeller: he
always referred to the people as "mice"; and in response to JFK's platform
plank that called for the Medicare health initiative, Rockefeller supposedly
said, "we won't fight it, but will make sure it comes under Social Security
where we can control it."

Does anyone have an insight as to what he meant? Thanks,

Dan Scanlan
