I don't know what the reason is either, Jim, just raising the question. 

 

There isn't much analysis available on it yet, at least I cannot easily find
any, though some pundits refer to a "necessary adjustment" (the expectation
is, that it is inevitable that at least in the longer term interest rates
must rise again) or "uncertainty of what the Fed is going to do" etc.
suggesting a change in lenders' expectations. 

 

Interest rates seem to have begun rising, in advance of any significant
policy change announcement by the Fed.
