Naiman pointed out that you did not address the point he was making so your
response is to repeat your own response:

"There is no evidence that "the global left" is opposed to "any sort of
interference whatsoever—whether imperialist or otherwise,
under UN auspices or not, in or out of line with international law."

On the contrary: there is no "global left" opposition to speak of, as far
as I am aware, to the U.S.-Russia agreement, which is a form of
interference. The agreement demands that the government of Syria take
particular actions to liquidate its chemical weapons program, on pain of
international punishment for noncompliance. "

The whole discourse about some GLOBAL LEFT holding this or that seems a bit
weird. What on earth is this global left? Anyway quite a few leftist groups
support the Russia Syria agreement perhaps that is the global left being spoken
off.  I have no idea whether the Syrian refugees are leftist or not. No doubt
many leftists support overthrowing Assad as well but many less think that it
should be through a US attack on Syria.Surely Naiman is correct that there is
no "global left" opposed to the agreement. The complaints of refugees in a
refugee camp does not change that. Nor does the position of Free Syrian Army.
If it is part of the Global Left then it too supports intervention as do the
refugees just a different intervention. So even if your refugees are part of
what you call the Global Left they are not opposed to any intervention just the
intervention of the Russia US deal. THey are fine with a US attack. This would
still show that the author of the
article is mistaken in thinking that the GLobal Left always opposes any sort
of intervention.
Perhaps few people dispute with you because they do not find it worth while.

Cheers, ken

Dude, PEN-L has archives. And I also keep copies of the email I send to
PEN-L. This was my response to Robert:

I imagine that everybody is happy with it [the USA-Russia agreement],
except for these malcontents:

Things escalated after that but don't blame me. Robert has been on 10
times as many flame wars on PEN-L than me. In fact you have a lot of
nerve making such accusations since anybody familiar with my presence
here knows that I *very rarely* get into disputes with anybody here.
