My intent was crystal-clear. It was to demonstrate that de Blasio was an
opportunist. I took the same tack in January 2008 when I attacked
Obama's economic policies.

wrote about Obama's ties to Franklin Marshall Davis--a CP'er in Hawaii.
This is not "red-baiting". It is reporting. Julio is upset because a NY
Times article might prove that de Blasio is some kind of leftist. Has
anybody been watching his campaign commercials? He is running an
unabashedly leftist campaign even if he is only trying to hustle up
votes. People act as if the article will frighten off NYT readers.
Actually, they will respond positively to quotes like: “My work was
based on trying to create a more fair and inclusive world,” he said in a
recent interview. “I have an activist’s desire to improve people’s lives.”
