It's going without food that is annoying. And getting bowel movements back to 
normal takes a while.

If you don't have any polyps, you can put off the next colonscopy for 10 years. 
One or two polyps means 5 years, and a half-dozen might 
mean 6 months. The polyps are removed during the colonscopy since they are 
suspected of developing into cancer.

There is an improved solution that doesn't require as much fluid. 

Virtual colonscopies are a less invasive way to be checked, but if you have a 
polyp, they still need to go in to remove it.
