Thanks. I have only read about Piketty, not read Piketty, but I had, in my unsophisticated way, some of the same thoughts. And I didn't know what "gattopardo" meant, so just googled it. Discovered that Krugman -- yes, that Krugman -- has already responded to Palley! Know I know what gattopardo means and also got confirmation that Palley is correct in asserting that mainstream economics will have a way of tucking Piketty into the textbooks.
