Thanks for this Michael. Of course as I said in my previous message, I am
in complete agreement regarding the carelessness and lack-of-specificity in
the deBoer piece. Not to mention that I find his main argument about the
alleged overemphasis on race and gender completely unconvincing and quite a
bit disturbing.

Well, this is a decidedly "glass half full" viewpoint. I'd say the acts of
racial solidarity are painfully uncommon and pale next to the continuing
racial animosity as seen in the 2012 election results in West Virginia.
