Unlike Walker's union-busting antics back in 2011, this stuff is not
attracting the attention it deserves. We have to assume that his current
moves are all calculated with the Republican primary in mind.

This guy has been consistently underestimated by the Left. He is very
likely to be the Republican nominee for President in 2016 and is quite
capable of beating Hillary Clinton. If he wins, be very afraid.

Here's what he has done just within the last week or so.

First, he proposes a budget with an absolutely massive cut of $300M in
state appropriations to the university system.

Next, we made a series of provocative comments suggesting that academics in
the UW system were lazy fatcats and they can easily absorb the budget cuts
by teaching one additional class each with the implication that this would
be no big deal.

Now finally, he seems to have gone too far. He proposed revising the
mission statement of the university to remove "search for truth" and add
"workforce preparation". This last one finally provoked a backlash strong
enough to make him back off just a little. Maybe.
