Dear Friends,

The web-site of the University of Texas Inequality Project (UTIP) has an
entirely new look, with a much-streamlined approach to the presentation
of our twenty-eight working papers, six data sets, and measurement
tools. The site also now features a "tutorials" section, with
introductory and advanced guides to inequality measures and especially
to the Theil statistic.

Thanks to Enrique Garcilazo (who also did most of the new design)
substantial parts of the site are available in Spanish as well as
English. The site also features an updated and fairly complete archive
of my published work on other topics.

Please visit at <http://utip.gov.utexas.edu>. You can find the latest
version (2.3) of our Estimated Household Income Inequality data set,
with almost 3,200 country-year estimates for gross household income
inequality, as well as original inequality data sets built from national
data sources for Russia, China and India, and for Europe by regions. The
older UTIP-UNIDO data set measuring inequalities of manufacturing pay is
also still available.

If you like the work, and if you have a web-site of your own with
material related to inequality or economic development, we'd appreciate
having a link on your site, and we'd be happy to link appropriately in
return. Other comments of course welcome!

James Galbraith
