I had to install the latest Mac OS in order to install the latest
Dreamweaver I needed for my MRZine editing. So I did. Mac OS Tiger
came with a feature called Spotlight, which allows me to search for
anything saved anywhere on my computer. Very neat. In my view, a
Mac is better than a Windows machine -- if only Mac prices could
compete with Windows prices. . . .

Hi michael,
Given your position on 'intellectual property', will you be
posting this tool soon? (Looked to me like a $199 usd item.) How,
incidentally, does it compare to desktop google?

Well, I just used it to index all of the history of thought books
on the
McMaster site. I guess I could use it on marxists.org. It allows
me to
search through the entire library with request, such as find
everywhere
that the word, Smith, occurs within 10 words of Ricardo, but not
mentioning William Petty within a hundred words.
