Doug Dowd was one of those Berkeley grad students, he
went to Cornell. Another was Marvin Lee, who went to
San Jose State. By the 1970s Lee had made economics at
SJSU a good, dynamic and progressive program. The
faculty included James O'Connor, Karl Neibel, and Doug
Dowd along with a number of younger progressives. In
this case the University administration did actively
engage in a campaign to replace the progressives. Now
that Department is dominated by Misesians.
