It is called trolling. Five years ago when he first appeared on LBO-Talk, Marxmail and PEN-L, he used to pay lip-service to Marxism. Now it is all Thomas Friedman.

I hate this. If a particular point made by Ulhas or anybody else here is flawed, factually or logically, why don't we just refute *it* (the point) and keep ourselves from attributing to him (Ulhas or whoever the author may be) ill motives or -- worse -- impeaching his character? I'm tired of the self-righteous ad-hominem crap on the list. Clearly, this list membership is an extremely censored sample. No wonder. These flames become so damn tedious that we survivors either value the list very highly or have lives so empty that we don't mind wasting them reading crap. Can we turn the heat down and the light up? Just to show how cranky I am tonight, here's a story Alan Hevesi told the other day (as I remember it): "When we were young and athletic, my wife and I were adventurous. Once, we were in the Andes mountains, in South America, riding donkeys on the way up. Another donkey was carrying our backpacks. At some point, that donkey stumbled. My wife said, 'one.' A little while later, near the edge of a cliff, the donkey stumbled again. My wife said, 'two.' Not much later, the donkey stumbled again. This time, my wife got off her donkey, pulled a 38-caliber handgun, said 'three,' and shot the donkey in the head killing it instantly. I freaked out -- 'What the fuck did you just do?!!!', I said, 'Are you crazy?!!!' She looked at me and said, 'one.' " Not that anybody should care, but... 'one.' Julio
