Well, this is absolutely right. On all the political issues that we have
ever discussed, there are only two that we have had sharp disagreements on:
the Brenner thesis and Iran. Unfortunately, over the past 6 months you have
become so consumed with Iran that needless antagonism has arisen.
I don't think I have behaved antagonistically toward you or anyone
else for that matter, on Iran or any other issue. IMHO, the direction
of personal insults, etc. was opposite. I don't have time for that.
I'm interested in Iran and Venezuela due to their regional importance
and implications for a possible emergence of a multi-polar world
order, and I'll continue to study how things are inside each country,
for that matters in what their foreign policy will be, not just to
their respective peoples. I already have a reading knowledge of
Spanish, and I'm studying Farsi, to get it to the level of my Spanish.
But if other leftists don't think the way I do, so be it.
