My friend Richard Greener had this to say after watching it: I watched it live. I am very sensitive to the unfairness of private, for profit health care. My heart transplant and subsequent complications (which kept hospitalized for 161 days) cost over $1 million. An example: the cost for "acquisition of the heart" - a single line item on the bill - was $45,000. A candidate cannot get on the waiting list without showing an ability to pay. I have Medicare and a Medicare Supplement policy, so I was acceptable. But people die every day because they cannot "pay" for a heart transplant. I don't want to be lucky. Until health care is considered a right, not a privilege, only the fortunate will get a second chance.
