Hello, may I join in?
Can't help keeping quiet about the issue of "status of regitration" of
my-linux.org as far as the schoolinux project is concern...We have to be careful
that we are not trapped in the mud of official bureaucracy.. The process of
registration, presumably with the Registrar of Society, is cumbersome Society's
Constitution and ByLaws have to be drawn up and filed in. The process for
obtaining approval is slow yet unsure... Before the approval is isued we could
miss the boat........
If I interprete it correctly, my-linux.org is an "open" organization in this
cyberworld of ours with no formal ( and more often bureaucratic!) or official
setup requiring physical administrative machinery..To maintain it means that you
may have to regsiter members and collect subscription etc. The question is do we
want it that way at all ? Why not just keep it the way it is? Anyone can join
as a "member" by just posting one's name and email address in this wonderful
virtual world of ours. We can draw up a rule and change it as many time as is
necessary to tune in with the time. We can call and convene a meeting without
leaving our chair anytime of the day 24 hours a week if you like. In other word
we can pursue greater knowledge in this IT world for the benefit of mankind using
a common OPEN PLATFORM..without getting tangled up in other people's rile... .. I
think that is the spirit of Linux !
So, what do we do know? Just forget about the schoolinux project? Of course not!
It just need a little bit more innovation, new idea and new approach in
disseminating Linux.. With due respect to the "official" in this school project,(
which I am sure was just following directives, procedure, official circular or
whatever ) we just have to impress upon them that there are new ways of sharing
knowledge... Perhaps my-linux.org should act as facilitator. We provide the
platform, the open platform, and someone else bring the the hardware and
(application) software to the school.. This way we'll be bringing the three
worlds together for the good of our future generation.......Maybe that's where we
should begin....

The Future is in Everyone's Hand !

Wassalam
