A'kum,

Maybe somebody has already used this technique. And maybe that we also
have missed it entirely.. 

People..You can access your Linuxconf using your web browser.. Meaning,
your box can be configured remotely.. 

1) run linuxconf on the shell (kinda redundant, isn't it?)
2) Conf->Misc->Linuxconf
3) Check the option Allow configured remotely.. Never tried to enter
wildcard for network/machine names, but I don't think there would be a
problem. 
4) Save and activate changes
5) then using any browser http://your.linux.box:98
6) Voila.. 

The same goes for Samba. There is a module called SWAT, which is
thoroughly documented.. Once installed, you can just point your browser to
the port mentioned and all the configuration files will be presented for
you to edit right on your favourite browser.
