I've a Slackware Linux box now just running BIND 8.1.2. I found that it
takes longer time to start than earlier(when I have not configured the DNS).
Precisely it's after several daemons has been launched during boot
process(after the /rc/rc.inet2), including the named.

My question is simple: is this a 'normal' phenomenon (takes longer time to
boot) after DNS has been configured .

Fyi, the DNS is working.

Thanks in advance.
