IMHO, this list is indeed not helpful in term of getting/distributing
info and helping users on linux matters, but we have to understand that
the list is only as good as the people that subcribed to it. (I lied,
IMHO, this list has been really cool.)

Personally I won't mind the occasional jokes and the general non-linux
related postings, but as anyone on the list had exprienced the irritants
of useless/redundant/vulgars that the list sometimes failed to control
and at worst caused mutltiple replies, learned only then it began to
piss ppl beyond words.

This is no fault of the list administrator(s), the fault lies largely at
the users. Let us all understand that the administrator provided this
service freely on their own expenses, and as much as we would like to
put high hopes on this list, sometimes leaks appear.

I suggest that we all work together as a community to improve this mail
list. Below are some of the steps/rules taken by various mail-list
communities to improve their list services.

1). STOP complaining.
Don't participate in multiple 'replying' in any purposeless complaining
campaigns. If someone post some complains, take note of it. If you are
able to offer help/advise/suggestion then post your thoughts, otherwise
don't join in the crowd to 'mass-complain'. Sometimes what you don't do
is more helpful.

2). Don't be lazy! Your fingers can do more than "REPLY".
Yes it's true that the disclaimer and 'save de bandwith' banners take up
space and hog the line, but the users should have known better when they
post anything, cut down the craps and post whatever is relevant.

Maybe we can just cut off the size of the banners or replace the
disclaimer banners completely with smaller ones. Nevertheless I don't
regard this as a problem, every mail-list esspecially the free ones, are
entittled to their own banners.

Let us all put more attention to the fact that this is a Malaysian Linux
mail-list, it'd be really cool if once a while someone post some
inspriring Malaysian Linux stories/events/editorials.
