I have read your last mail about adding the loopback devices.

Actually the reinstallation of Linux does not "correct" the loopback
problem. Instead, it just wipe off
the mistake you make.
use
   netstat -rn
to check what is the routing table now, and compare your previous setting,
you will learn something.

1. For normal case(yes there is special case), all IP address ended with 0
e.g. 192.228.128.0, 128.0.0.0
represent "network"

You have incorretly issue following command that adding a network route
route add -net 127.0.0.1 netmask 255.0.0.0 dev lo

 notes to take :
 i. 127.0.0.1 is a "host".
ii. You can't use a "-net" options for a host.

 2. The following command is correct, however, it have other meaning.
route add 127.0.0.1 netmask 255.0.0.0 dev lo

 notes to take :
 i. Adding a "host" IP address using "route add" is call "adding static
 route"
ii. We don't need to add static route for loopback devices.
