First you need to make sure you have the necessary kernel modules. I'm using
3com509 cards too. This network card module is "3c509".
After that you'll need to setup other things in your /etc/ file. Read the
net-3/4 howto it should help.
As for ipmasq. Starting with kernel 2.2.x it has been merger into the ipchains
programs. Look at the ipchains howto it really helped me.
