I increased the number of processes to 72 and the no. of IOps increased.
My goal was not to get the max. SFS numbers but to find the optimal server
configuration (kernel and NFS parameters) for specific setup.
On the storage side I have 4 multi-tera SVM concat.volumes sitting on several storage devices each one connected via 3 FC interfaces.
Some day I'll test other storage configs that give me the max SFS numbers, but currently I need the best server configuration for this one. And one of questions - is there SVM parameters to tune in order not to spoil the numbers I've got.
Leon,
If using stripes/concats, you can try increasing the stripe interlace
value to get additional I/O throughput. You can do this by clearing the
stripes and recreate them with the additional option -i 512k to the
metainit command. The actual gain will depend on the characteristics of
the workload. The interlace values of 512k and 256k work quite well.
