Hi Stephane

We are in the process of packaging a new distribution based on Fedora 11
which uses a 2.6.29 kernel and we want to include the perfmon2 package with
this distribution.

I have taken the perfmon2 2.6.28-1 kernel patches and applied them to the
Fedora 11 kernel. Mostly the patches went in OK (except for the sparc
architecture stuff which luckily I do not need). I had to turn off two
kernel configuration options related to UTRACE and comment out the line "
h->cb_mode = HRTIMER_CB_IRQSAFE_UNLOCKED;" in the patch to file
perfmon_init.c to get clean compiles. After booting with this kernel, I
installed libpfm, pfmon, papi and hpctoolkit and most things I tried seemed
to work.

Question I have is, do you plan on publishing an official 2.6.29 perfmon2
patch set, and if so, a guess as to when it may be available would be
appreciated.

Thanks
Gary
