I think the problem probably comes form the fact that in SLES they have modified the user/kernel interface of perfmon. Instead of using dedicated system calls, they are using ioctl(), if I recall correctly. They have modified pfmon to use this but that's it. If you download the official pfmon and libpfm packages, they won't work. > On the same machine I'm running a Gentoo Linux with a 2.6.30 kernel where > perfmon2 is built into the kernel and there everything works fine. > > The only difference in the /sys/kernel/perfmon/ directory is that the Gentoo > system contains a syscall interface that the openSuSE system doesn't. > > Has anyone an idea how I can get the performance counters work on SuSE? > > Regards, Michael > -- > Michael Knobloch > Juelich Supercomputing Centre > Institute for Advanced Simulation > > E-Mail: m.knobl...@fz-juelich.de > WWW: http://www.fz-juelich.de/jsc/JSCPeople/knobloch > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Forschungszentrum Juelich GmbH > 52425 Juelich > Sitz der Gesellschaft: Juelich > Eingetragen im Handelsregister des Amtsgerichts Dueren Nr.
