Good mailing list software gives you the option of receiving no
mail to a subscribed address (primarily for the benefit of people
who use multiple addresses and want to be able to post with
several of them). I suppose the listserv at perl.org does not

Nope. ezmlm is specifically designed to not allow this, apparently for performance reasons. If you don't want the messages, unsubscribe.
