It ticks lots of boxes: * It's self contained * It's decoupled from other projects * It doesn't matter the the main project if it fails * It can expand (or contract) to fit the student's abilities and whatever "end" is reached it can still be declared a success * It doesn't have a high barrier of entry due to needing knowledge of existing code bases.
