Have a look at:
http://webservices.cnet.com/Bandwidth/loading.asp
and 'view source'. It's quite a nice little bit of Javascript to
'record' how long a page of a set size takes to load - then it just
passes the details to the server - which could be running ASP, Perl
etc etc.
