I am attaching a script from my latest book
(http://www.roth.net/books/handbook/). It uses WMI to run a
command/appliation on a remote machine. It requires that you have WMI
installed on both the local and remote box. Win2k & WinME both come with
WMI, otherwise it can be downloaded (for free) from Microsoft's web site.
Cheers,
dave

The lanman module can do the job for you. It's available from CPAN.
http://www.cpan.org/modules/by-authors/id/J/JH/JHELBERG/
If you prefer to use ADSI, you'd have a look to the book "ADSI Scripting for
System Administration" from Thomas Eck. The examples are in VB, but it's
easy to translate to perl.

Subject: listing open (remote) file handles - win32 module
like the
net file
command does, but from perl (because i want to see the whole filename and
not just bits of it).
at the moment, i run a scheduled task on the server
net file > text
and process it remotely.
any suggestions? i know that there is a service from www.sysinternals.com
that lists file handles, but i would prefer a simple API call as its running
on a server.
i didnt find anything on cpan unfortunately, looking for file handle is a
little like looking for water in the ocean....
