I'm still very happy with UltraEdit - works great with all the
various flavors of scripts.

It is an improved version of VI. Very Powerful and great with Perl. Has its
own regex engine built in on the win32 platform.
I use it because I have to work on a mix of machines - win32 and Unix and VI
is everywhere in the Unix world. On win32 you can check and run your Perl
scripts and a bunch of other time saving innovations from the Unix world.
