It does work. I can confirm. The order in which you install the modules is important. Install first Net::SSH::W32Perl, after that Net::SFTP. At least it finally worked for me in Perl 5.8. You may have to uninstall everything first then reinstall, starting with W32Perl, as I did. This is covered in the dpcumentation at soulcage.
Can't say whether it works in perl 5.6 or not.
