I am running a perl script similar to documented examples to simply read a
range of cells from an Excel sheet. The script works fine and produces
results. However, there seems to be a problem with the closing down of the
OLE session and I always get a pop-up message box with the title:
"OleMainThreadWndName: excel.exe - Application Error"
Inside the box are the words:
"The instruction at 0x30032ff9 referenced memory at 0x65177f98."
"The memory could not be read. "
" "
"Click on OK to terminate the application "
"Click on CANCEL to debug the application "
I am using ActivePerl 522 and Excel 97 SR-2
After this error has occurred, if I double-click a .xls file, excel appears
to startup but the file is not displayed in the window even though all the
menus and buttons work as if the file was there. If I start excel from the
Start menu and open a file all is well again.
If anyone knows the cause of this problem, please help!
Cheers
