Parrot doesn't have anything to do with Java as such, besides being a
VM. (They both owe rather a lot to UCSD Pascal and Zork, thinking
about it)
Parrot's the interpreter for perl 6. One of the nice things about
perl is that it's a superset of many other languages, which means
that the interpreter should be fit for those other languages,
including Ruby and Python for example.
