Now that you point it out, yeah, they do look cluttered and "busy". I just made two changes: 1) I tweaked the existing cutesy icons to be less cluttered. 2) I made a new set of cutesy icons that is less cluttered still. In particular, these icons have fewer elements and there is nothing hiding the logo. So the logo is easy to read.
