Subject: [Perldl] CHM/PDL-2.4.9_002.tar.gz released to CPAN

This release introduces multi-processor support
using pthreads as well as a number of bugs
fixed and other enhancements.

Does perl need to have been built using pthreads in order to take advantage of these new pthreads enhancements ? ... or is it sufficient merely to have the pthreads library available ?

Basic/Core/Makefile.PL appears to want perl to have been built using pthreads, but that might be separate from these new pthreads capabilities. (Is it ?)

Cheers,
Rob
