Possibly a stupid question: IIRC, the "p" stands for "POSIX"; Do
pthreads work on Windows?
There *is* a pthreads library for native MS Windows - I don't know just how
much of the POSIX threading it actually emulates.
If it emulates enough to accommodate these new enhancements, then it's be
nice to get it working.
I would expect there to be a better pthreads implementation for Windows,
using Cygwin ... but that's a bit different to "native" Windows.
