A lot depends on what you need to do.
PDL::Graphics::TriD is designed for scientific
visualization of data sets and PDL is great for
manipulating and generating those data. You
can get an idea of what is possible by running
'demo 3d' or 'demo 3d2' from the pdl2 shell.
If you are interested mainly in the animation
and graphics side of things, you can use the
Perl OpenGL module directly. It includes
bindings to FreeGLUT so you can implement
many of the demo and example codes for OpenGL
with it. See the test.pl example in the
Perl OpenGL (a.k.a. POGL) module distribution.
