I have used TriD to make movies -- you can find some of them at the FLUX wiki (http://flux.boulder.swri.edu). It is awkward to use the current TriD interface to do rotation movies in which the camera POV changes. I do it by rendering and grabbing screencaps ("grabpic3d()"), when writing them out as rendered frames. It is a kludge but has worked well enough to get by so far. I found it easier to let the axes stay fixed and rotate all the points in the subject to be rendered, rather than trying to move the camera around.

Cheers,
Craig
