Solidaritas Nusa Bangsa (SNB, A NGO in Indonesia) and United Front for
Human Rights (UFHR, A NGO in North America) will held Exhibitions (Photo,
Painting, Video) and Seminars in several cities in North America (Los
Angeles, San Francisco, Vancouver, Washington DC, New York, and Toronto).
The theme is:
"Discrimination and Violence IN
Indonesia"
In Los Angeles, the event will be hosted by: Committee for Human Rights
in Indonesia (CHI, Los Angeles) and Indonesia-US Democratic Research &
Development Forum. Other local organizations will host these occasions.
Date & Time: Saturday, January 30� 99 / 1 PM - Finish (The Seminar will
start at 4 PM
after Indonesian May� 98 riot and other riots�
video presentations.
Place: Travis Auditorium, Fuller Seminary, 135 N. Oakland Avenue,
Pasadena.
Speakers: Christianto Wibisono, he is a productive writer--Social &
Economics�
concern--in several leading Newspapers and
Magazines--and former adviser to one of
previous Indonesian Vice President. Now, he is in US as
a Research Fellow. His topic is "Relationship between Discrimination
and Economics".
Arnold Purba, he is a lawyer, human rights activist,
and Operational
Director of SNB--one of the prominent NGOs in
Indonesia--that is fighting for anti-discrimination.
He experienced almost 3 years in prison because a
protest to a former Indonesian Internal Affair Minister. He will discuss
about "Discrimination and Human Rights Violence in
Indonesia".
