I personally could care less about letting Timorese people be separate
from RI; to be on their own.
However, my only concern would be the Portuguese govenrment who have
promised Timorese people a better future.
I am not completely sure if Timorese people are going to gain more
freedom under Portuguese administration. Simply, Timorese would not be
better off with neither of the two entities: RI nor Portugal.
How about Australia?
I have no faith in them Aussies either, just look at how they have
treated the aborigines. Just look at the suffrage Aborogines must deal
with. Just look at who's exploiting who.
What we need to do, in the future, is to make Timorese get on their
kness and beg to be a part of us as a Republic/Federation. We must not
capture Timor like we did in the past, but in fact, we must develop such
an ideal nation that would attract them to join us; we should attract
them, and not capture them.
That would be my ideal goal.
