Globalization has brought in its wake new questions and issues for scholars and practitioners of Business and Administrative Sciences. Globalization in the context of Emerging Economies is a theme of extraordinary scope well suited to the present world order characterized by a borderless world and an on-going search for the proper balance between nationalism and globalism. This dynamic has found expression in economic, organizational, social, political, and cultural upheavals at the micro and macro levels. As we enter the new millennium, it is difficult to think of a topic more worthy of a sustained and enduring intellectual dialogue. Thus the 1999 International Conference of the Academy of Business and Administrative Sciences will focus on Globalization and Emerging Economies. This conference will bring together leaders from business, government, and academia from all over the world--both the developed and developing economies--to discuss and share ideas and to work together to meet the challenges of the emerging world order. CONFERENCE VENUE The conference will be held at Barcelona Plaza Hotel, situated in the business hub of Barcelona, in front of the Barcelona Trade Fair and Convention Center in the Monjuich area where most of the Olympics venues are also located.
