23 orang mati ditembak polisi dalam 14 hari?
Rata-rata hampir 2 orang mati ditembak per hari?
Apa nggak kebanyakan?
Apa nggak salah hitung?
Saya jadi ragu:
Apakah polisi pernah mencoba untuk "melumpuhkan" tersangka dg. menembak kaki atau tangan terlebih dulu, tanpa langsung berusaha "mematikan" si penjahat? Penjahatnya nggak punya pistol kok, kenapa mesti bertindak secara berlebihan?
Ngelawan nyamuk kok pakai ketapel?
Bila masih bisa meringkus penjahat dengan tackle (jegal/banting) kenapa tidak?
Saya cuma bisa berharap polisi untuk tidak terlalu gampang mencabut pistolnya. Kecuali kalau si polisi dalam situasi terjepit & nyawanya terancam, silakan saja.
Kalau dikit-dikit langsung main tembak, ya gawat.
Mending kalau kena sasaran, tapi kalau meleset & malah kena orang baik-baik yg. lagi lewat, bagaimana?
Maaf saja kalau saya skeptis. Terus terang, saya sekarang agak susah untuk percaya semua perkataan aparat keamanan karena terlalu sering dibohongi oleh mereka.

JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) -- Indonesian police have killed 23
suspected robbers and arrested 295 others for holding up cars
along a major road during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
Every year, millions of people in this predominantly Muslim country
spent part of the month with families in their hometowns and
villages.
Police sharpshooters have been deployed on the Pantura highway
that links Jakarta, the Indonesian capital, and eastern Java island,
which becomes clogged with the exodus of vacationers.
The 23 were shot between Dec. 30 and Jan. 12, and most were
suspected of robbing passing vehicles, Indonesian Police Brig. Gen.
Togar Manatar Sianipar was quoted as saying Friday by the official
Antara news agency.
"They had to be shot because they refused to surrender," Togar
said.
About 17 million people are expected to visit their home villages
during the holiday period.
Togar said more than 5,200 security personnel from the army, navy
and air force as well as police were patrolling major roads.
Indonesia is facing its worst economic crisis in three decades. Riots
and looting have broken out in many parts of the country, and
political, ethnic and religious tensions have also led to violence.
