Hello Milsa, Saya saat ini sedang apply a US visa dan sudah lebih dari satu bulan belum keluar juga visanya. Setelah saya check dan ngobrol dengan orang bagian konsuler di US embassy, Jakarta, ternyata prosesnya itu adalah sbb:
A. Untuk first-timer/belum pernah mempunyai US visa sebelumnya; 1. Call 34359000 ext. 9050 to make an appointment for an interview 2. Usually, you'll get it in a two/three-week time (If you call on the 1st week of the month, then the slot available will be between the third and fourth week. 2. Before you go to the embassy, you can download the form from http://www.usembassyjakarta.org/download/formvisa.pdf, fill it up (make sure you answer the questions properly, etc). And have your passport ready (the passport has to have AT LEAST 6 months to the expiration date). 3. Go to the interview as scheduled and don't forget to bring Rp. 450,000 (empat ratus limapuluh ribu rupiah) for your visa fees. 4. When you pass the interview, the embassy will need to send your passport to Washington for further process at the State Dept. (I would assume that they also do some cross checking with FBI, CIA, etc since Indonesia is on "that list"). 5. Around 20-days later, if Washington approved, your visa should be at the embassy. You should call the embassy and make sure that your visa is there BEFORE you go there. B. Untuk yang sudah pernah mempunyai US visa sebelumnya dan ingin memperpanjang; 1. You don't need an interview, so no need to call to make an appointment 2. Before you go to the embassy, you can download the form from http://www.usembassyjakarta.org/download/formvisa.pdf, fill it up (make sure you answer the questions properly, etc). And have your passport ready (the passport has to have AT LEAST 6 months to the expiration date). 3. Go to the embassy at 1PM in the afternoon (This is the slot for visa renewal). Go to the line, submit your passport, visa application, supporting letters with respect to whatever visa you are applying and pay the fees (Rp. 450,000). 4. Around 20-days later, if Washington approved, your visa should be at the embassy. You should call the embassy and make sure that your visa is there BEFORE you go there.
